My name is Irene Reig and I am 25 years old. I was born in Barcelona, Catalonia, but I am currently living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

I always studied music. After finishing my Professional Degree in Clasical Piano I decided to focus on Jazz Saxophone. I did my Bachelor's Degree at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) and I did my Master at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
[03] inspiring artists...
I have been inspired by such a different saxophonists like Sonny Stitt, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane or Kenny Garrett. I also feel really inspired by Jazz Orchestras like Duke Ellington, Count Basie or Thad Jones.

People around me are the ones who inspire me the most.

My main instrument is alto saxophone.
[06] current projects...
I am currently working with The Bop Collective who just recorded its second album. This project will come as The Bop Collective XL to the Amersfoort Jazz Festival 2019. I also work in my quintet; The VIEWS project.

I come from Catalonia which is a very rich land in many different ways. I really like all the different views you can have there; what do you prefer? Sea or mountains?

My artistic dream is keep on growing up musically.
